Attorney Samuel Adam Segal Sworn in as MBA President

On September 10, 2026, Chief Justice Kimberly Budd of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court issued the Presidential Oath to Samuel A. Segal, swearing him in as the President of the Massachusetts Bar Association for the 2026-2027 bar year. The bar year runs from 2026-2027, and attorney Segal looks forward to continuing to fight for greater access to justice, attorney wellbeing, and strengthening the rule of law.

Attorney Segal's term as President caps off five years of service on the Executive Board of the Massachusetts Bar Association. During his time on the Executive Board, attorney Segal is most proud of his work organizing the Law Day of Action, bringing together judges, attorneys, and court professionals to stand up in support of the rule of law and a free and fair justice system.

Attorney Segal hopes to live up to the inspiring words of Moorfield Storey, the third President of the MBA from 1913-1914 and first President of the NAACP: “It is not success to fight on the winning side. It is success to fight bravely for a principle even if one does not live to see it triumph.”
