On May 1, 2026, attorney Samuel A. Segal, as President-Elect of the Massachusetts Bar Association, is co-hosting the second annual Boston, MA Law Day of Action 2026 event. This is part of a national effort to bring attorneys, judges, and other legal professionals together to rally in support of the free and fair right to practice law, represent clients of all types, and be free from harassment and threats. As stated by the Law Day of Action organization:
When court rulings are defied and judges are threatened for following the law, the legal profession has a duty to act. On May 1, 2026 legal professionals and citizens across America will gather at courthouses and in public spaces - retaking their oaths, standing together, and making clear that the rule of law is non-negotiable.
The event will be held on 5/1/26 from 12 - 1 pm at the Boston Common Bandstand. It will feature speeches by representatives of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, LGBTQ Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association. Supreme Judicial Clerk Allison Cartwright will also be speaking and will administer the ceremonial re-swearing of the attorney's oaths to uphold the Constitutions of both the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States.
Following the Law Day of Action Rally, there will be a follow-up Standout for Rule of Law event from 1 - 2 pm at Faneuil Hall.
We hope you can join us to rally in support of the Rule of Law on 5/1/26!
